The Dakota Weightlifting Club in conjunction with Crossfit Winnipeg is hosting the first Masters Championship competition for the Province of Manitoba. This competition is a qualifier for the 2019 World Masters Championships being help in Montreal this summer and is sure to bring masters talent from across multiple provinces.

Masters World Championships Montreal 2019 Lecture Series
In support of athletes wishing to compete at the 2019 Masters World Championships, the Dakota Weightlifting Club conducted a series of lecture discussions designed to help prepare masters athletes for the World Championships. High-level competition presents the athlete with numerous physical, mental and environmental events. The trick is to understand what you can control and accept what you cannot. Each lecture covered a different series of events and pinpoint strategies that you can implement to make sure your competition is a success.

A membership with the Manitoba Weightlifting Association entitles athletes to compete in MWA-sanctioned competitions and qualify for out-of province competitions and funding.
Three levels of membership are offered, contingent upon one’s age and level of participation in MWA events:
